If you haven`t heard about how apple cider vinegar is good for your hair, this is the good news for you. There are many benefits. It`s a natural conditioner, it helps with maintaining moisture, treats hair loss, cleanses, reduces frizz, treats dry and itchy scalp and it leaves your hair soft, smoot and shiny. Using Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is especially great for dreadlocks just beginning their journey as they don't have to be touched at all. It can also be used for dreads at any stage. If you are using a dread shampoo or bar, do ACV once a month to exfoliate the scalp and keep it happy.
Use this safe homemade mixture to wash your dreadlocks:
1. Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda to 5 cups of water.
2. Pour over wet head and leave on for 10-20 minutes to exfoliate the scalp without scrabbing.
No touching!
3. Rinse this out well.
After these steps use the ACV rince to balance back the hairs PH from using the baking soda.
4. Mix 1-2 cupfuls of ACV to 5 cups of water. Pour over your head.
5. Rince out ACV within one minute. Any longer may result in over-conditioning your dreads.
Never mix baking soda and ACV together as it make a chemical reaction!
