Hello! I am Livia. I`ve always been attracted by people with dreadlocks so once upon a time I decided to get knotted myself to experience how it feels like to have this 'different hairstyle'. A yogi with dreadlocks who made my dreads became a starting point of my journey as a dreadlock artist long before I arrived in Australia.

 

Eventually, I cut my dreads off. I wasn`t quite confortable with the way they were made - a yogi wild style - some very thick, some very thin, difficult to maintain well, but I learned a very good lesson about dreadlocks. My dreadlock journey meant a drastic change in my life as this yogi inspired me mainly in many other ways to transform my life, but that is another story. Since my partner at the same time also started his journey, I learned how to maintain dreadlocks with a crochet technique (from another very good teacher) and practised on his dreadlocks for years. He has his dreadlocks until today.

 

I moved to Australia in 2010 from Slovakia. After my arrival in Australia, I became more interested in repairing dreads and learning how to create them. I started my own little trade and the last 5 years I`ve been offering my skills to other creatures. Even though I`m not a dreadhead myself anymore, I`m still very seriously passionate about dreads as I love creating and designing dreads people want in every little detail.

 

Natty Dreadlocks is my creation to connect with you on your dreadlocks journey, share my experience, knowledge, skills and other interesting information about this hairstyle with very long and interesting history, and also learning about inspiring stories of people with dreadlocks.

 

I call it Natty Dreadlocks which for me means a hairstyle worn more than just for fashionable reasons, although we all need to keep in mind that your hairstyle is not who you really are.
